The Orbimat 165CB power supply is claimed to push the limits of orbital welding power supplies further than ever seen before.

The Orbimat 165CB power supply can be used to control welding heads which can give an operating range from 3 to 275mm outside diameter tubes, pipes and fittings Steve Purnell of Orbimatic said: "This power supply is the most compact water cooled orbital welding power supply available in the world today"

"This machine pushes the limits of orbital welding power supplies further than ever seen before".

"When you consider that this is a full package containing controller, power supply and cooling unit, it is still only about the size of most controller and power supply combinations".

The Orbimat 165CB weighs 24kg when the cooling system full of coolant, bringing it within the single person's lifting limit.

The system also has inverter technology throughout, enabling it to work with any input voltage between 80 and 260V DC, which makes it ideal for application both in the workshop and on site.

Another improvement is the addition of a CompactFlash port on the front panel of the machine that allows welding data to stored or transferred.

The system also has low-noise long-life components that will make the equipment more user friendly in laboratory environments.

The unit uses the same software as the Orbimat 160C and has a menu system for ease of use and he new unit can be used with any Orbimatic welding head.

Purnell went on to say: "This shows just how committed Orbimatic are to the development of orbital welding equipment".

"We have new developments that will be announced over the coming months that will see further improvements to our range".

"This will give Orbimatic the most modern equipment available to date and our commitment to pioneering this type of equipment will continue and we will continue to push the limits".
