Miniature controllers show budget versatility
Orchard Electronics (Process Controls) has a new range of low cost miniature digital PID autotune controllers.
The lower current ratings (up to 4A) are available in plug-in format and can be directly soldered in to a PCB or plugged in to a DIN-rail mounting socket.
Additional features of the sockets include output indicator LED and/or fuse holder if required.
Models enabling direct replacement of electromechanical relays are also available.
Each of the higher-current rated models is constructed with a substantial metal base, which offers good thermal contact with a choice of heatsinks.
For 10A models and above, each SSR is fitted with a protective cover to keep fingers away from terminal screws.
All models in the range are fitted with a snubber circuit offering protection against unwelcome voltage spikes.
A smaller range of DC load current types is also available covering loads of 2 to 10A.
The range is completed by the addition of a number of SSRs with built-in heatsinks.
These cover load currents to 63A single phase, 50A dual phase and 20A three phase.
Each of these models can be fitted with thermal overload protection if required.
