Orion offers range of DC fans to maximise airflow

An Orion Fans product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 14, 2009

Orion Fans, a division of Knight Electronics, is now offering a range of DC fans for electronic enclosures, telecommunications and networking equipment.

The VA Series fans maximise airflow in nearly sealed, high-static-pressure environments.

David Luna, product marketing manager, said: 'These high-performance fans provide a significantly higher CFM in a small frame package size than comparable cooling solutions.

'For example, our 60mm VA Series fan outputs the airflow equivalent of an 80mm fan and our 120mm fan produces almost 300 CFM in a 4.5in [11.4cm] package.

'The exceptional airflow makes these fans ideal for any application requiring the movement of a large amount of air, particularly telecom and networking equipment,' he added.

Included in the company's catalogue, the VA Series fans include the OD1238, OD9238, OD8038 and OD6038 series devices.

The fans range in size from 60 x 38mm to 120 x 38mm, with airflow ranging from 61 to 283 CFM, depending on the device.

Orion Fans' new fan and accessories catalogue also details the company's line of AC and DC fans, fan trays, blowers, guards, cords and filters.

The cooling products are suitable for a variety of standard and speciality applications, such as telecommunications, networking and computer equipment; cabinets, panels, electronics enclosures, industrial controls, servers and motor drives; harsh-environment applications; and those specified for energy efficiency.

Samples are available immediately and production quantities will be available from distributor stock soon.
