The PK Series of two-phase stepper motors is designed for applications that need precise and reliable operation without the need for position detectors.

The PK Series of two-phase stepper motors from Oriental Motor, Japan's largest manufacturer of AC and stepper motors, offers low noise and low vibration The 28mm model also has the highest torque-per-unit-volume of any similar motor currently on the market The PK series is designed for applications that need precise and reliable operation without the need for position detectors

Likely areas of use include medical equipment, scientific test and instrumentation hardware and automated laboratory equipment - as well as numerous industrial applications.

The motors employ a combination of rare-earth neodymium magnets and an optimised rotor design to achieve the outstanding torque v size performance figures.

Often, smaller-sized motors suffer with back EMF problems or lack of shaft strength.

The design of the PK series avoids these problems through the optimisation of magnetic and mechanical engineering.

This advanced design is also responsible for the lower vibration and noise.

Available in six different sizes (28, 35, 42, 56.4, 60 and 85mm), variants on offer include high-response (P), high-inertia (J) and high-resolution (M) models.

A geared unit (SH) is also available, offering six reduction ratios and a harmonic geared version is available on special request.

The high-response P-type models combine high torque in a compact body.

Three frame sizes (28, 35 and 42mm) are available, each providing torque equivalent to a motor of the next higher class - supporting high-torque operation even in the high-speed range.

The high inertia J-type variants are ideal for driving loads subject to large inertia.

The motor response improves as the ratio of the equipment's external inertia and rotor inertia decreases and the generated torque increases.

The M type increases motor resolution from 200 to 400step/rev.

If an even smaller step-angle is needed, half-step driving and micro-step driving are other options.
