Orkot Marine Bearings has won a prestigious contract from Rolls-Royce for the supply of water lubricated bracket bearings for the new Type 45 destroyer fleet being which is being designed and built for the Royal Navy, by BAE Systems This contract success, achieved adopting the principles of Smart procurement was gained despite stiff opposition from both UK and international bearing suppliers, and is credited to Orkot's ability to design bearings meeting the demanding conditions of operating under low speed as well as normal hydrodynamic running
