Orkot Marine Bearings will be showing its range of composite bearings at the SMM Exhibition in Hamburg from 28th September to 2nd October.

Exhibits on Stand 720 will feature the outstanding TLM series bearings which have approvals from all the main classification societies for use as rudder bearings and water lubricated stern tube bearings.

The latest options for greaseless operation, such as for rudder carrier bearings, are included in the approvals.

Allowing for the big increase in allowable bearing pressure for rudder applications in recent years, Orkot bearings are typically now approved for 10 or even 15N/mm2, which is three times the pressure for traditional bearing materials.

Orkot bearings up to 1200mm diameter can easily be freeze fitted using liquid nitrogen.

The material is not brittle even at cryogenic temperatures, providing a simple and confident method of obtaining an interference fit.

Availability within 24h for ship owners and repair yards is ensured by extensive stocks and a global network of agents and distributors.

Offering the expertise of over 25 years' experience, the company's bearings have been fitted to over 1000 vessels worldwide.

Orkot Marine Bearings engineers provide the highest standard of technical assistance and support to ensure that customers select the best bearing material for improved service life in marine applications including rudders, stern shafts, stabilisers, mooring systems and deck machinery.
