Switches give minimal panel sizes for lift control
Developed in partnership with Lift Control Panel manufacturer Lester Controls, the compact external dimensions of Otehall's new pushbutton lift switches allow for minimal assembled panel sizes
Leading microswitch and joystick manufacturer Otehall Switches launched a new series of pushbutton lift switches at the May 2001 Liftex exhibition, ExCel, Docklands.
The unit was exclusively developed in partnership with leading UK Lift Control Panel manufacturer Lester Controls, and is being incorporated into their interface panels.
The compact external dimensions of Otehall's new pushbutton lift switches allow for minimal assembled panel sizes.
Tactile illuminated pressels can also be supplied with a range of optional legends and built in screw terminal blocks for ease of assembly.
Lester has produced its own PCB using the latest surface mount technology to provide the illumination.
The unit also incorporates Otehall's well proven 290 series subminiature microswitches which are supplied with gold plated contacts to prolong life in variable environmental conditions.
Internal parts are assembled into a robust flame retardant outer casing of glass-reinforced nylon.
Otehall produces all parts and switches, and assembles them in-house, ensuring a highly competitive unit cost.
Stuart Davidson, Partner and Commercial Director at Lester Controls says "We wanted to develop a new range of lift push buttons that offered a simple, cost efficient unit with high reliability.
Otehall demonstrated a capacity for innovative design, and we were extremely impressed by their state of the art manufacturing facilities.
I hope that our joint collaboration will strengthen our positions in an increasingly competitive market place".
After its incorporation in 1987, Lester Controls has progressed to become the UK's largest independent lift control panel manufacturer.
The introduction of their R and D department has enabled Lester Controls to develop its new micro-processor (MP500), which has taken the place of their ageing PC controllers.
This item alone has been used on nearly 2000 lift control applications.
