The industry standard City and Guilds 3466 series of qualifications has been extensively revised and updated to become the new City and Guilds 3666 Certificate in Communications Cabling.

The industry standard City and Guilds 3466 series of qualifications has been extensively revised and updated to become the new City and Guilds 3666 Certificate in Communications Cabling.

Any anyone who has any questions about or would like more info on the new City and Guilds qualification can now find all the answers on a new website at www.3666.info.

The 3666.info site has been developed by Optical Technology Training to provide accurate, detailed information on the changeover between the City and Guilds 3466 series, which has been a stalwart of the cabling industry for the last 16 years, to the new 3666 (three triple six).

The 3466 series syllabus has been extensively revised and updated to reflect developments in the technology, new standards, techniques and current industry use-age and practice.

A core unit has also been added to the 3666 as it is now accredited within the UK's National Qualifications Framework.

Roy Brader, of OTT, who has been heavily involved with City and Guilds with the development of the 3666, said: "We set up the site because we were concerned that the 3466/3666 changeover might suffer from a Chinese whispers syndrome around the industry".

"It is important that people still respect the validity of existing 3466 qualifications as well as understand the why the change has occurred now and the value of the new certificate".

"So the site includes a history of the 3466 series, with a questions section, as well as information on the new 3666".
