New from OTT, LanNet comprises two interactive, multimedia e-learning courses that offer broad training in Ethernet local area networks.

Produced by PTT, a leading provider of powerful interactive e-learning courses, with specialist subject support from OTT, the courses offer several hours of in-depth, authoritative, technical training using interactive simulations, hypertext links and question sessions embedded in structured and assessed courses.

Richard Ednay, Technical Director of Optical Technology Training said: "This exciting development means that we can now offer our existing customers a very accessible and cost-effective method of broadening their knowledge base".

"These courses offer a good grounding in the operational issues of Ethernet networks such as standards, protocols, components, and factors such as management and network security".

"A familiarity with these issues can make cable installers feel a lot more confident when talking to their customers such as network managers".

"The courses are an excellent addition to the practical skills trainees gain with OTT through courses such as the City and Guilds 3666".

Bob Nott, Managing Director of PTT said: "PTT's collaboration with OTT has ensured that our new PTT datacomms e-learning courses offer the same degree of relevance as our existing, popular range of telecommunications e-learning courses".

"The courses offer OTT trainees the opportunity for a blended learning experience by supporting and extending their practical skills based learning with a knowledge building resource that can be used at a time to suit them".

Ednay added: "We're also very pleased to be working with PTT - there's a great deal of synergy in the relationship".

"Both companies are very well established leaders in their specialist fields with common ideals of quality of training".

"The skills sets that are brought together into the partnership are very complementary both in terms of technical subject matter and also training design and delivery".
