Automatic compensation for torch distortion

An Oxford Sensor Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 11, 2001

In a fraction of a second the Oxford Sensor Technology Wire Finder provides automatic compensation for torch distortion, contact tip wear and torch changer repeatability

In a fraction of a second the Wire Finder provides automatic compensation for: * Torch distortion.

* Contact tip wear.

* Torch changer repeatability.

The Welding Wire and Tool Centre Point Locator (Wire Finder) from Oxford Sensor Technology provides a fast, accurate and efficient method of measuring the actual welding wire position.

This information is then used by the robot to make automatic corrections, with little or no impact on cycle times.

Oxford Sensor Technology has an excellent reputation in the robot and automated welding industry for the CSS Weld Sensor, a 3D seam locator and tracker for use in robot and automated welding cells.

This product requires specialist installation and has always been sold directly (within the UK).

The Wire Finder, however, has been designed to be sold as an off the shelf unit, for installation by any competent robot engineer.

For this reason Oxford Sensor Technology is currently looking for UK and European based distributors with a proven history of selling in the robotics and automated welding industry.
