Permanent magnet motors switch standards

A Parvalux Electric Motors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 16, 2007

The provision of both IEC B14 and NEMA standard flanges and shafts means permanent magnet motors can meet both European and North American demands.

Parvalux has produced a series of IEC B14 and NEMA standard flanges and shafts for its complete range of permanent magnet (PM) motors.

This means that the motors can now carry a European or North-American standardised interface if needed.

For each motor size the standards stipulate: hole centre distance (also referred to as pitch circle diameter), hole diameter, shaft length, shaft diameter and flange diameter.

This new option allows Parvalux DC motors to interface with a much wider range of gearboxes as well as providing a standardised interface for pulleys and gears.

Customers can download CAD diagrams of both the IEC B14 and NEMA standards for each permanent magnet motor model from the Parvalux website.
