Printing customised cable markers and component labels, whether in a workshop or on site, is fast, simple and inexpensive with the new MK1 portable plotting machine system from labelling expert, Partex.

Specially designed for marking applications, the MK1 plotter at the heart of the system features an integral QWERTY keyboard, a large liquid crystal display for previewing legends, and a unique etching ink system which ensures that the labels and markers it produces are highly legible and exceptionally durable.

The versatile MK1 plotting system is compatible with a wide variety of blank media, including type PA and PAZ gusseted marker sleeves for use with cables from 0.2mm2 to 70mm2; type PK plain sleeves which, in conjunction with carrier strips, provide an ideal solution for labelling larger cables, looms and pipes; type TX terminal and component markers; type PS clip-in component labels; and type POH carrier-less tie-on marker strips.

All blank media are produced from materials specially formulated to ensure long service life in even the most arduous of operating conditions, and certain types are optionally available in highly flame-retardant zero-halogen versions.

To ensure maximum legibility and to make best use of available label space, the MK1 plotting system uses three text heights and three text widths.

The height and width of the text is automatically adjusted to suit the size of label or marker, and the number of lines in the legend.

The number of characters which can be accommodated in each line of the legend is clearly shown on the unit's display.

Equally suitable for operation from the mains supply or from a rechargeable battery pack, the MK1 plotter may also be linked to a PC running Partex WinSign software.

This easy-to-use software package enables large quantities of legends to be pre-prepared and simply downloaded to the miniplotter, as well as allowing the unit to print customised symbols which are not directly available from its integral keyboard.

The Partex MK1 plotter may be purchased alone, or in kit form with fixtures to accommodate various types of media.

Replacement plotter pens, loaded with specially prepared black etching ink, are available separately.
