The Microweigh linear weigher from Packaging Machinery Services is specifically designed for weighing dry piece type products from 2 g to 50 g and is ideally suited to nuts, pulses, seeds, snack foods, confectionery, dry baby foods and whole foods The unit is very compact and has been developed for use where space restrictions prohibit the use of standard equipment

A vibration mechanism moves product along a feed tray to the weighpan at the front of the machine.

As product enters the weighpan, the system monitors the weight up to 80% of the 'target weight' at which point the system switches to a dribble feed for the final 20%, thus ensuring optimum accuracy.

Depending on the product, speeds of up to 20 weighings a minute can be achieved.

The Microweigh provides a highly cost effective solution for a diverse range of applications and customers can use multiple units to provide increased throughput and for synchronisation with other packaging and indexing systems.

The unit incorporates the latest in PLC technology, giving reliability as well as ease of use for operators.

The weigher is manufactured from stainless steel and quick-release parts are incorporated to provide ease of access for cleaning and servicing.

Units have recently been used by one manufacturer to dispense the chocolate chips onto cookies.

Not only was the weigher designed to accurately weigh out the chips but also the discharge chute was shaped to provide a uniform spread onto each cookie.

The Microweigh has also proved highly successful in the dairy industry where it is used for accurately discharging products such as nuts and coated rice into yoghurt containers.

Here the units can be supplied in multiple formats, mounted on and synchronised into existing indexing systems to provide a high speed fully weight controlled system.

Packaging Machine Services have extensive experience in the design, implementation and manufacture of specialist high speed weighers and ancillary equipment for difficult products.
