Panduit has just introduced its new CA9 Ezair Universal Applicator in Europe, which works with the most popular wire processing machines to terminate cable using reel-fed products
Panduit has just introduced its new CA9 Ezair Universal Applicator in Europe.
This applicator works with the most popular wire processing machines to terminate cable using reel-fed products.
As well as offering compatibility, it has been designed to provide a quick and easy solution to wire termination in high volume manufacturing environments.
Panduit's CA9 Ezair distinguishes itself from applicators already in the marketplace by sheer universality.
Due to its industry standard footprint and shut height, the applicator is fully compatible with today's most popular wire processing machines, including those produced by Komax, AMP (CLS Series), Shinmaywa, Artos, and stand-alone presses.
The advantage here is that there is no need to change existing wire termination products.
The CA9 Ezair applicator also terminates the full range of Panduit`s REEL SMART continuously moulded reel-fed products (in other words, 450+ part numbers).
The combination of the applicator with the Komax Gamma 333 crimping machine and Panduit's REEL SMART products provides a complete solution for high-volume wire termination.
Not only is this applicator designed to be universal, it is also automatic.
Firstly, no adjustments or tools are needed to mount the applicator thanks to a quick change base plate.
Secondly, die inserts for automatic feed stroke adjustment mean that the applicator adjusts according to the size of the terminals and the spaces between them.
A pneumatic feed also means that the wire processor controls feeding.
These features allow for fully automatic, high-capacity performance.
The applicator also has the advantage of being fast.
Set-up time is low and the die changeover time is less that 1 minute.
Due to the versatility of the applicator, the operator merely has to change over the die sets rather than installing a new applicator.
Consequently, the CA9 Ezair lowers overall installed costs and minimises down time.
Safety and industry standard were also major concerns in the design of the CA9 Ezair.
It is UL listed, CSA certified and produced in ISO 9001 certified facilities.
The speed and compatibility of this product make it ideal for high volume use in production environments such as harness houses for automotive, office equipment, brown and white goods, and large OEM.
