Panduit's Global Plug Lockout provides a simple and reliable way of ensuring that hard-wired electrically powered appliances are securely locked-out in circumstances of maintenance or security.

This new product can prevent injury and even save lives.

What's more, it has been designed to securely fit the vast majority of European 220-240V plugs.

Up until now, the most common method of indicating that an appliance should not be reconnected to the mains was to attach a label to it.

Panduit recognised the need for increased security by developing a product that presents a mechanical, visual and physical barrier to re-connecting an electrical appliance.

Furthermore, Panduit felt the need for a global solution that can be fixed to the majority of European plugs.

The plug lockout device is made of nylon, making it strong and durable.

The red colour has been chosen so that the device stands out clearly.

As well as ensuring safety, the plug lockout is quick and easy to install.

The lockout device is placed over almost any European plug pins ensuring that one of the pins is in the top hole.

The set screw inside this hole is then tightened with a standard screwdriver, fixing the plug lockout firmly to the plug.

The padlock and tag should then be attached to the device to indicate that the plug must not be reconnected.

Panduit provide tags featuring ISO symbols for precisely this purpose.

Lastly, the installer must verify that the lockout cannot be removed from the plug.

The plug lockout can be used with Panduit PSL-3, PSL-4, PSL-5 and PSL-11 series locks.

The Panduit Global Plug Lockout is available from Panduit's distributors.
