They are essential in preventing injury by ensuring hazardous energy sources are properly isolated and cannot be started accidentally.
Lockout/tagout devices also help reduce costs by eliminating machine downtime and preventing lost workdays due to accident or injury.

The Panduit "No Tool" circuit breaker lockout is a quick and "tool-free" answer to circuit breaker locking out.
Made from a rugged nylon/stainless-steel construction for added strength, the lockout eliminates the need for any tooling during installation through the introduction of a set screw in its design.
Featuring a compact universal shape that fits a wide variety of single, double and triple handle circuit breakers, the "No Tool" circuit breaker lockout is easily attached with no modifications to the panel or circuit breaker.
It is also compact and lightweight so it is easy to transport and store.
The Panduit gate valve lockout is easily adaptable for a variety of gate valve styles and fits gate valve handles from 25 to 330mm wide.
The high quality, UV-resistant polypropylene material means the Gate Valve is highly durable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, as well as harsh environments.
The integrated knockout design aids use with rising stem gate valves.
As an added security measure, the largest three sizes are designed with multiple padlock holes, enabling more than one person to lock out the same valve and thereby reducing the risk of accidental startup.
Panduit's comprehensive range of safety products also includes lockout hasps, labels, tags and signs, an interactive training programme, ball valves, cord and plug lockout devices, toggle/rocker switch lockouts, padlocks and a patented multiple lockout device.
