The integrated 56mm EC motor offers cost advantages and reduced manufacturing time for fractional horsepower, demanding drive applications.

Comprising motor plus integrated control electronics and network filter, Papst's 56mm EC motor offers cost advantages and reduced manufacturing time for fractional horsepower, demanding drive applications The internal rotor motor with integrated intelligence permits a compact installation without additional components

The 56mm EC motor operates from the standard industrial voltage of 18 to 28V DC with a nominal current consumption of 5A.

Using neodymium magnets, the motor attains an output of 90W and a torque of 29mNm at a rated speed of 3000rev/min.

Different types of gears units are available to expand the field use.

The service life of the three-phase, electronically commutated motor is over 20kh.

Despite the unit's integrated electronics, the dimensions of the compact drive are just 56mm diameter and 140mm in length.

Well equipped for field use, the motor casing and the cable connection are protected to IP54.

Microprocessor based control electronics are used to carry out many functions of motor management.

Three Hall sensors give the micro-controller exact position signals of the rotor for precise commutation of the motor current.

The four-quadrant controller is equipped with an end stage capable of overcurrent, and a protection function for other safety features such as stall protection and temperature monitoring.

In order to keep within the limits for incoming and outgoing interference radiation, an efficient EMV network filter is integrated in the casing.

Accordingly, long connecting leads do not have an adverse effect on motor operation.

For this reason, the signal and control cables are galvanically separated.

Additional protection circuits are not required as the compact drive contains all the components needed for operation.

The drive can be smoothly controlled via a standard interface, such as 0-10V signal or an optional frequency range signal of 0-400 Hz.

An actual value output and an alarm output permit external monitoring of the drive.

As a compact piece of equipment, the motor with its integrated network filter and control electronics makes quick assembly in the field possible.

The drive needs only to be mechanically attached and connected to the supply.

Assembly and maintenance are therefore much simplified, offering a clear cost advantage compared with previous separate small drive solutions.

Apart from the standard solution with and without gearbox, Papst can offer a wide range of special versions for customers' specific applications; from speed and voltage variants, special winding designs, adaptation of the software, or other special functions to suit the application.
