The latest axle lift control system from Parker Hannifin is a fully integrated, modular unit designed for the lift axle control on multi-axle vehicles with air suspension.

The latest axle lift control system from Parker Hannifin is a fully integrated, modular unit designed for the lift axle control on multi-axle vehicles with air suspension This compact, all-in-one module helps owners of commercial vehicles realise important benefits including reduced fuel consumption and tyre wear, improved brake balance when the vehicle is unladen and increased load carrying capacity; ultimately, the new system will help operators minimise the cost of vehicle ownership

Based on proven pneumatics technology, the new axle lift modules have been designed as plug-in and go units, making installation and setup quick and simple.

Once installed, operation is fully automatic via an axle lift control valve, which lowers the lift axle once a preset load rating has been reached and automatically raises it again when the load is sufficiently reduced.

The compact, modular system eliminates the need for component assembly by tractor or trailer manufacturers and repairers, reducing the need for multiple parts and the associated purchasing costs and engineering time.

Similarly, the option of standard 8 or 10mm push-in pneumatic fittings and a common 10mm exhaust unit cuts installation time, while the integrated system design ensures that the length of pipework required and the number of possible leakage points are minimised.

In addition, the new axle lift control system ensures optimum safety as it features automatic overload protection and air bag protection, plus a suitable interface for traction control units, while also complying with the Road Traffic Act 1988 Regulation 2000 numbers 5 and 6.
