Piston accumulators on Container Handler steering
Parker Hannifin piston accumulators are specified on Kalmar's new RT 250 Rough Terrain Container Handler as part of the electronic-hydraulic 4-axle steering system.
One example of these hydraulically controlled tophandlers adapts to both 6m and 12m containers weighing up to 25 tonnes.
While a pressure controlled, variable displacement axial piston pump provides hydraulic pressure and flow to the steering, the Parker A Series piston accumulator is used to supplement pump flow during periods of high demand, eliminating any adverse effects caused by pressure drop, as the pump responds to rapid steering inputs.
Powered by a 375hp diesel engine, the units are road transportable, featuring four-wheel steering and a maximum travel speed of 15 mph.
The machine converts from the 4m tall OALH on the work site to a lowered height of 3m.
The conversion takes less than 30 minutes and the operator can do it without the need for tools, minimizing downtime.
When loaded on a 0.6m high transport bed, the overhead clearance is just 3.6m high. Request a free brochure from Parker Hannifin ...
