The Parflange F37 flange connection system from Parker Hannifin has been designed to enable engineers to quickly make hydraulic pipe connections that are robust enough for heavy duty applications.
Parker said that the Parflange F37 technology offers increased efficiency particularly in the shipbuilding, offshore, mobile construction and high pressure machine industry.
It reduces the number of processes required to achieve a connection, minimising costs as a result.
A process of continuous orbital tube forming is used to create a highly polished tube end, into which a tube insert containing an O-ring seal is placed.
When the tube end and seal come into contact with the F37 flange, a tightly-sealed connection is created.
This three-step process leaves no dirt particles or contamination, eliminating the need for chemical cleaning.
The system is suitable for both tube-to-tube and flange-to-flange applications and is compatible with over 10 flange types for maximum operational flexibility.
The Parflange ECO 170 flanging system, which is used to form the pipe, can be used for on-site installation and maintenance work.
The range of standard components spans outer tube dimensions from 38mm to 140mm, with connections able to withstand pressure ratings of up to 420 bar.
The Parflange F37 has a Cr(VI)-free protection layer coating and features a hole pattern structure that is ISO 6162 compliant (ISO 6164 for square bolt pattern flanges).
