Parker Life Sciences has added a NEMA 17 size to its Integral E Series integrated drive and stepper motor product line.

Parker Life Sciences has added a NEMA 17 size to its Integral E Series integrated drive and stepper motor product line.

Ideal for space-constrained life science applications, the new IE17 simplifies connectivity and saves cabinet space by bundling an industrially hardened stepper drive into an industry standard two-phase, 1.8-degree NEMA 17 motor.

Parker also offers an optional incremental encoder that combines a motor, drive, and encoder into one convenient package.

Operating on 12-24V DC, the IE17 delivers up to 600mNm of torque with selectable resolutions up to 1600 step/rev.

"The IE17 is ideal for OEM instrument manufacturers that are looking to improve reliability by reducing connection points and unnecessary components from their BOM", says Paul Horvat, Business Development Manager at Parker Life Sciences.

"On the design side, OEMs will have more flexibility to reduce the size of their electrical panels and, subsequently, their entire subassemblies".

"On the operation side, the OEMs will enjoy faster, less expensive machine builds and simplified field service".

Customers can combine several Integral E motor/drives (size 17 or 23) with a single Parker controller, or with other industry standard motion controllers, to form a complete multi-axis motion control system for use in liquid handling systems, robotic handling applications and other analytical instruments.
