The Maidstone Tyre and Motoring Centre is one of the first independent tyre and servicing centres in the UK to offer customers the opportunity to have their tyres inflated with nitrogen - rather than traditional compressed air.

The acknowledged benefits of inflating tyres with nitrogen are more comfort and safety, up to 4% savings in fuel costs and up to 30% increase in tyre life.

The Maidstone Tyre and Motoring Centre has installed TyreSaver nitrogen generator based tyre inflation system - produced by local company Parker Balston - that supplies nitrogen with the purity required to keep tyres at constant pressure.

Nitrogen has for many years been the accepted gas medium for filling the tyres of aircraft and racing cars.

Nitrogen is used for safety reasons and to ensure that tyres are always at a constant pressure oxygen in compressed air leaks out through the rubber walls of a tyre three times faster than nitrogen.
