Thunder and lightning provided a dramatic setting for Pathtrace's new Swedish reseller's customer conference in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Thunder and lightning provided a dramatic setting for Pathtrace's new Swedish reseller's customer conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, where MP Engineering was happy to declare "goodbye MasterCAM, welcome EdgeCAM" to some 300 customers last month MP Engineering has recently partnered with Pathtrace, the developer of EdgeCAM, to improve EdgeCAM presence in Sweden

As the largest SolidWorks dealer in the Nordic region with nearly 800 customers, MP Engineering has established an outstanding reputation for quality service and support.

The one day user conference was filled with presentations and seminars from 15 MP Engineering partners covering its four main product areas: CAD, PDM, manufacturing analysis and the fast growing CAM market.

EdgeCAM is already the market leading CAM product in Sweden, as it is across Scandinavia, yet MP Engineering is enthusiastic about the opportunity to increase market share even further.

Martin Poulsen, CEO and founder of MP Engineering said: "We have established an admirable reputation in Sweden for our excellence in CAD, we are now a significantly mature company to focus our growth plans on our CAM disciplines.

All our staff are very excited about working with Pathtrace and EdgeCAM.

Many features in EdgeCAM complement our product range, from its full associativity with SolidWorks, to solid based machining".

MP Engineering has already trained all 13 sales staff in EdgeCAM and has also established a CAM division for training and supporting EdgeCAM.

The company is continuing to recruit into this fast expanding area.

Many customers at the conference were impressed with the new CAM offering.

Hans Axel Hansson, Executive Vice President and Founder of DiLab said: "I currently need to manually edit my CNC code after exporting my CAD drawings into an IGES or dxf file so that my incumbent CAM system can view my drawing.

It's a very time consuming process which greatly affects our productivity.

Having seen the full associativity between SolidWorks and EdgeCAM I'm very excited about the benefits having such integrated systems could produce for a company like mine".

MP Engineering is no stranger to fast track development.

Since its inauguration in 1991, by Martin Poulsen, MP Engineering has grown rapidly, now employing 35 staff in five offices with a turnover of SEK 50 million.

The company's successful strategy of good quality after-sales is evident in the high proportion of customers on maintenance, over 78%.

Lee Fowkes, International Sales Manager for Pathtrace stated: "The signing of MP Engineering is an exciting development for Pathtrace.

We are expanding our impressive Scandinavian reseller network, taking our leading CAM solution for this region to new heights".

MP Engineering, with offices mainly in the south of Sweden is ideally situated to develop EdgeCAM and to reach customers frequently for training and support.

The north of Sweden will continue to be covered by EdgeTechnology.

The relationship between the two Swedish resellers is truly unique.

EdgeTechnology has actively trained MP Engineering staff, provided locally translated materials and all visits to customers and prospects are logically divided geographically to ensure synergies are achieved.

The friendship between the two resellers bears testament to their professionalism and dedication towards the common goal of increasing market share through EdgeCAM sales, training and support.
