The latest version of the EdgeCAM computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to be released in September 2004, supports SolidWorks 2005 3D mechanical design software.

EdgeCAM Solid Machinist, in combination with SolidWorks 2005, provides a complete CAD/CAM solution.

Customers benefit from seamless integration between the two products.

With EdgeCAM Solid Machinist, the SolidWorks user is able to import files directly into EdgeCAM without data translation, enabling faster NC programming.

The associative link between EdgeCAM Solid Machinist and SolidWorks significantly reduces the burden of reworking NC programs, meaning that even late changes to the SolidWorks model will not affect manufacturing lead times.

"SolidWorks is the standard for 3D mechanical design software", said Brian Houle, Partner Programme Manager for SolidWorks.

"Combining it with EdgeCAM Solid Machinist gives engineers the tools they need to do their jobs faster and better, and reduce time-to-market by offering concurrent design and manufacturing activities".

With EdgeCAM as a SolidWorks Certified CAM Product, Pathtrace is committed to offering SolidWorks users worldwide a CAM solution that enables them to maximise efficiency and productivity.
