Programming system supports more CAD
packages
EdgeCAM V11.0's advanced handling of 3D models from a wide range of proprietary CAD systems provides faster operation and shorter programming times.
EdgeCAM V11.0, the latest version of Pathtrace's advanced CNC offline programming system, and EdgeCAM DNC, its DNC/Ethernet product, will be the centrepieces of the company's presentation at the forthcoming Productivity Partnership event at the 600 Centre in Shepshed, near Loughborough between 14th and16th November 2006 Incorporating new functionality to support four- and five-axis simultaneous milling on latest generation mill-turn machines, as well as improved drilling routines for automatically finding and machining holes through cylindrical and conical faces, EdgeCAM V11.0 provides users with enhanced productivity features that deliver faster and simpler operation, along with reduced component floor-to-floor times

Edgecam sets program developments for 2000
A major development in the Edgecam portfolio is the launch of 'Solid Machinist' which will enable uses to directly machine Parasolid models inside the off-line programming software.
Edgecam chosen for high performance transmission
Faced with an ever-increasing demand for more complex machined surfaces, motor sports supplier, Hewland Engineering, has invested in Pathtrace's Edgecam system.
Improved boundary control and new 'rest roughing' functionality minimise operator input and geometry creation on both roughing and finishing cuts, while a new tool optimisation routine ensures the most effective utilisation of cutting tools, particularly on multiple part setups.
In addition, EdgeCAM V11.0's advanced handling of 3D models from a wide range of proprietary CAD systems provides faster operation and shorter programming times.
Also on show at the Productivity Partnership event will be EdgeCAM DNC.
Based on Ethernet networking technology, this DNC (direct numerical control) solution provides wireless machine tool communication, data management and data monitoring - offering users an easy and reliable way of managing all shop floor communications.
"We have been regular participants at the Productivity Partnership events for many years", says Pathtrace's Sales Director, Simon Lee.
"Visitors will again be able to see at first hand how our latest CAD/CAM and DNC solutions can improve quality and throughput, while also reducing lead times and manufacturing costs - enabling them to compete strongly in today's tough global markets".
