Catscan is a real-time catalyst performance monitoring system that combines CRI's catalyst expertise with Pavilion's advanced predictive modelling technology.

Catscan is a real-time catalyst performance monitoring system that combines CRI's catalyst expertise with Pavilion's advanced predictive modelling technology The only product of its kind on the market, Catscan improves operational performance, predicts catalyst life and reduces production costs for styrene manufacturers

"The latest version of Catscan incorporates feedback from customers to deliver additional key benefits for styrene producers", said Jim Wambaugh, Director of CRI's Styrene Business Unit.

"We have taken an industry leading solution and made it even better".

Since initially releasing Catscan in 2002, companies like Atofina, CBE, GPPC, Huntsman, Shell Canada and Sterling Chemicals have elected Catscan to gain real-time insight into how their production decisions impact catalyst life.

"The Catscan software is like having a CRI catalyst expert right on-site to identify best operating parameters and spot key trends", said Huntsman Australia's Ethyl Benzene and Styrene Monomer Manager.

"With our remote location this is a key benefit".

"And if I need deeper analysis, I can quickly export my performance data from Catscan and send it to CRI to expedite their study".

The latest version of Catscan incorporates new features requested by customers, including: e-mail notification if process is approaching a key limit or on application status; instant access to daily averages and historical trends; enhanced plot functionality like zooming and printing to aid in deeper analysis; support for two- and three-reactor systems; and calculation engine upgraded to version 7.0 of Pavilion's flagship predictive analytics and control software.

Catscan Version 2 is included as a standard part of CRI's technical performance package for new customers.

Existing customers will receive the new version as a standard upgrade.

CRI's technical support team also uses Catscan remotely to perform the same analysis with offline data, reinforcing the company's commitment to the technology and the added insight it provides.

"With Catscan, styrene producers cut the cost and lag times of traditional reactor performance analysis techniques", said Vice President of Business Development Greg Jackson.

"Best practices are identified and troubles spotted sooner, so engineers can make faster, more profit-driven decisions".

CRI Catalyst sells and markets the Catscan software as part of its styrene catalyst technical performance package.

Pavilion will continue to provide technology updates and support to customers through CRI.
