Software perfects cement processes
Pavilion Technologies has installed its multivariable model predictive control cement solution on a pre-calciner dry kiln for Capitol Aggregates, based in Texas, USA.
Using Pavilion's software, Emirates Team New Zealand will be able to measure the yacht's performance and correct problems, thus optimising on-course real-time decision-making giving the team the edge over its competitors.
The information, collected in real-time by Pavilion's software, includes direction of the wind, pressure on the sails and actual speed versus required speed, giving the team a big technological advantage.
"Technological innovations have always been a key contributor to America's Cup success and we are pleased to have Pavilion Technologies as an Official Supplier for the next Cup challenge", explains Emirates Team New Zealand Managing Director Grant Dalton.
"We believe that Pavilion's software, through its ability to model performance, identify improvements and provide predictive guidance, is a valuable contributor to our success", Emirates Team New Zealand uses Pavilion's software extensively for its data collection and aggregation both onshore and onboard our America's Cup yachts.
"Pavilion's technology will give us the ability to collect information in real-time and deliver it to the crew during the race, enabling us to better react to course conditions and improve performance", says Dalton.
"It is an honour to again be working with such a dedicated and talented team of individuals", said Pavilion's CEO, Ralph Carter.
"Competing in the America's Cup is extremely complex, with a dizzying amount of variables that can contribute to a teams success or failure".
"The outcome of the America's Cup challenge is often determined by a few seconds, leaving little room for errors in judgment".
"For that reason Emirates Team New Zealand understands the importance of analysing all pertinent factors quickly so that the best course of action can be taken".
"Pavilion's technology has been making those types of decisions in business, energy and industrial markets for more than 12 years", added Dalton.
