Battery charger for Sharjah
Bristol based PB Design has provided Alstom T and D with a dual 110V battery charger for a new 220kv substation associated with Wasit Power Station.
Following an integrated improvement project, implemented by the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa), Bristol based PB Design has provided Alstom T and D with a dual 110V battery charger for a new 220kV substation associated with Wasit Power Station.
Alstom has installed two gas turbine units with a capacity of 60 megawatts at the station and the project includes a 220kV overhead line connecting the power and desalination plant with Sajja 220kV substation and on to the 132kV stations at the Sports Centre and Al Hamriya.
PB Design's customised, microprocessor-controlled 110V 175A battery charger has been designed for ultimate reliability.
Backing up the station's switchgear, it has been installed complete with 800 apH Ni-Cd Batteries which cope easily with the areas extreme environmental conditions which can reach 50C during the Summer months.
