PBC offers vices for the Uni-Guide linear slide

A PBC Linear product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 20, 2009

PBC Linear has introduced powered and un-powered vices, which provide precise linear motion for the Uni-Guide linear slide.

The Uni-Guide's simple two-piece assembly allows for drop-in installation that is easily customised into these vices.

The Uni-Guide is outfitted with the Frelongold liner.

The Uni-Guide can withstand environmental obstacles that cause conventional linear-guide systems to seize up and fail.

Dirt, dust, wooden or metal chips and fluids do not affect the performance of the Uni-Guide.

The Uni-Guide is also resistant to extreme temperatures and shock vibration.

The Uni-Guide is self-lubricating so does not require additional grease or oil.

The Uni-Guide's modular positioning accessories include a power-feed system that bolts onto a self-centring Uni-Guide platform, allowing for the fast and accurate feeding of material.

The Uni-Guide power feeder is backed by a heavy-duty motor and gearbox.

It employs high power and precision linear-motion in an easy to install system.

For unpowered applications, low-cost holding modules create adjustable vices that can handle material ranging from 12mm to 2.5M.

Available locking mechanisms include ratchet-pinion, angle lock and modular clamp.

The vices ensure positive grip, which prevents shifting of production material during machining.

These systems are also available with optional air or hydraulic cylinders to facilitate fast loading and unloading of product materials.
