Machines can communicate across factory floors over Ethernet to Allen-Bradley PLCs simply and inexpensively with CTC PowerStation OEM operator interfaces now available from PBE systems bundled with software including a new A-B driver at no additional cost.

Said to be the first bundled HMI solution offering this facility, in place of the previously required expensive cards and Windows-based SCADA based systems, the driver communicates with both A-B SLC-5 and PLC-5 controllers.

Benefits to machine builders and users include simplified wiring, the ability to interact with multiple PLCs simultaneously and faster communication.

Additional cost-savings are achieved by using standard off-the-shelf products.

This solution also offers the reportedly 'unique' ability to send programming updates to the PLC without unplugging the HMI, which can remain running during an update.
