Integrating a PLC and an HMI on a single board, the PBE Systems 'AutoLogic' 14K combined micro controller/interface has five pushbuttons and a 3-character display

Integrating a PLC and an HMI on a single board, the PBE Systems 'AutoLogic' 14K combined micro controller/interface is a new product borne out of a customised OEM design solution reducing costs and providing precise machine control requirements from standard products.

The concept was developed for a manufacturer of 7000 autoclaves per year who previously used separate PLCs and HMIs.

The single integrated unit gave significant savings, plus the cost benefits of only incorporating required features.

It has now been added to the AutoLogic product range, with an operator interface having five pushbuttons and a 3-character display, but can be further adapted to meet specific machine control requirements.

The standard robust PLC used has four digital inputs, increased to eight with a PCB connector, and four or seven digital outputs, plus a PT100 analogue input.

It has an RS-232 port for printer or Modbus for HMI/SCADA system communications, an I2C port for extra I/O boards and GSM/SMS support for remote control.
