Advantech TPC-1560T touch panel computers for heavy-duty harsh environment HMI applications are now available from PBE Systems.

Advantech TPC-1560T touch panel computers for heavy-duty harsh environment HMI applications are now available from PBE Systems complete with built-in fanless Pentium III grade 500MHz CPU and 128Mbyte DRAM for simple 'out-of-the-box' use with no need for tedious local installation.

Having a 15in TFT LCD and excellent performance on power consumption and heat dissipation, these new 'ruggedised' units feature an 'InstantDock' antivibration hard disk drive module overcoming maintenance and vibration problems and increasing MTBF.

Modular design allows fast HDD swap and a rubber suspension mechanism replaces screw fastenings.

To ensure lasting reliability, these units are offered with a choice of three set expansion forms providing robustness for heavy-duty applications, rather than the usual facility for ISA or PCI slots which are less reliable in the long term.

The expansion choice is a PC/104 plus, a CompactFlash TM or two Type-II PCMCIAs.

A special RS485 port with automatic data flow control function allows connection of the HMIs to measuring or controlling devices without the usual annoyance of one-way communications on standard RS485 ports.

This built-in feature allows simple use of the serial communication without considering the direction of data flow.

An abundance of integral I/O connections enables these units to fulfil virtually all demands in a wide variety of applications.

These include a 100Base-T Ethernet, VGA out, parallel, mic in, line out and PS/2, two USB and three serial ports.
