The new Advantech MobiPanel 100 ruggedised web tablet from PBE Systems is a portable wireless device combining data capture and communications capability to provide unlimited real-time mobile access to information from remote databases via the Internet or an Intranet.
This Windows CE-based unit uses the latest 802.11b based wireless technology to ensure 'boundless' communications, while also keeping the flexibility to allow other WAN/WLAN and PCMCIA card adapters to be used.
A high brightness 10.4in TFT LCD provides excellent display visibility and is particularly ideal for graphic contents in the web-based applications.
Fully integrated I/Os maximise connectivity with peripherals such as a keyboard/mouse, printer, barcode scanner, digital camera, projector and monitor.
The tablet is equipped with IR, USB and PS/2 VGA interface ports and RS485/422/232 protocols communications port.
Ruggedised construction for industrial durability and harsh working environments includes a magnesium housing and internal shock-absorbency proven to withstand a 1m fall on a concrete floor.
Spill and dust resistance is to IP53 standard with I/O ports, LCD panel and internal circuitry protected against water damage while sealed ports and card slots guard against unexpected accidents and damage.
Power-efficient operation enables the device's battery to work for 4-6h on one charge.
The design includes speakers, CompactFlash slot, hotkeys and suspend switch.
Units are ideal for manufacturing/process monitoring, on-site service, logistics support and warehousing.
