Piezo-actuator specialist Servocell has named Simon Powell as its new Managing Director.

In his new role, Powell will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the company.

"Simon has done a tremendous job as Business Development and Technology Director and we are excited to have him as Servocell's Managing Director", said Richard Green, Chairman at Servocell.

"His understanding of the technology and his significant business acumen will add a new dimension to our management team and reinforce our commitment to our customers and different market segments like access control or gas valves".

Powell has been in the engineering design industry for almost 20 years.

Prior to joining Servocell, Powell served as Technical Director for PowerBreaker, where he was in charge of all product development, invention and manufacturing.

Previous to PowerBreaker, Powell held senior management positions with design and innovation companies.

"I am very pleased about my new role as Managing Director", states Powell.

"Servocell is already a leader in developing low powered and piezo-actuated modules for the access control market and I am eager to help the company make the transition from leading edge research to high volume manufacturing with global sales".
