PCL to show nitrogen products at SEMA

A PCL product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 16, 2009

Tyre inflation expert PCL will be showing the compact Accura Nitrogen Analyzer - a rugged instrument that can read actual percentage of nitrogen in tyres - at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Other products on the market read only the amount of oxygen, while the PCL analyser removes the need to convert the oxygen percentage into the figure for nitrogen.

The analyser provides one-button operation, auto diagnostic with error code to simplify troubleshooting, and a replaceable battery and sensor.

Battery life is extended by an automatic power-off function, making it suitable for workshops, fleets, tyre shops and car dealerships, as well as more advanced racing applications.

The Nitrogen Analyzer complements other nitrogen products in the PCL range, including the Accura Mobile, PCL's portable Nitrogen Tyre Inflation Cart that features a Nitrogen 'convert and purge' of air-inflated tyres and a 'top-up' of Nitrogen-inflated tyres.

It can be used with either a Nitrogen bottle or generator.

With six hose outlets for multi-tyre inflation it can provide high-speed, on- or off-site inflation and is especially designed for US applications.

Nitrogen inflation provides cooler running tyres and eliminates moisture in casings, decreasing degradation, while the tyre pressure is maintained longer.

These features provide the benefits of extended tyre life, increased safety, higher fuel economy and superior handling.

PCL will be showing how its products can ensure company compliance to California Tyre Pressure guidelines.

The company will also be demonstrating its range of handheld tyre inflators, including: the Airforce dial unit, which is tested and approved under the EC Directive 86/217; and the robust MK3 Tyre Inflator, a hand-held inflator suitable for intensive indoor and outdoor use.

Also on show at SEMA will be the full range of Accura electronic preset tyre inflation units.
