The latest member of the Schaevitz range of pressure transducers has a flush diaphragm and a digital back end.

The latest member of the Schaevitz range of pressure transducers has a flush diaphragm and a digital back end.

The new P380 series are ideal for applications requiring a high level of hygiene, such as in the food processing and pharmaceuticals industries.

Their fully flush design and absence of crevices or tight angles mean that material cannot become trapped.

Also, as the transducers do not contain a silicone oil fill, there is no risk of contamination in the unlikely event of the diaphragm rupturing.

Operation is made easier as the back end provides a standard analogue output and incorporates a digital LED display.

Pushbuttons for setting zero and span are included, which enables the sensors to be recalibrated on site.

This means that a smaller range of transducers can be stocked.

"Like all our Schaevitz transducers", said Polaron Components' Steve Couchman, "the P380 series have a high overrange pressure, which enables their full working range to be used without worrying about pressure spikes".

Available in Hastelloy or Inconel, the transducers are easy to clean and disinfect, and can be steam cleaned at up to 150C.

Areas of application include the food processing, beverage, pharmaceutical, biotech and paper industries, as well as ship-borne uses such as ballast sensors.
