Depth sensors to upgrade anti-submarine torpedo
A contract from BAE Systems to supply the pressure sensors for the Sting Ray lightweight torpedo has been won by Polaron Schaevitz.
Pressure sensor promises higher accuracy
With sensing technology based on a highly stable piezoresistive silicon chip the P10000 series can achieve an accuracy of better than +/-0.25% full scale pressure over a wide temperature range.
IGBTs provide a single step solution towards dimming lighting loads that require control gear to be either leading or trailing edge controlled.
Polaron's Lightlink universal dimmers automatically detect the load type for each connected channel and adapt to leading or trailing edge without any operator intervention.
In addition to phase control, each dimmer channel has a switched 1-10V output for controlling HFR ballasts.
Added benefits of IGBT technology are the removal of noisy chokes and dynamic short circuit, overload and thermal protection.
If a short circuit occurs, the dimmer will safely shut down until the short is removed.
There is also no nuisance tripping of MCBs due to current inrush.
Polaron has incorporated universal dimming technology into both standard four- and 12-channel dimmer racks and also dual plug-in modules that fit into custom racks.
Plug-in modules allow hot-swapping of power modules and provide for a cost effective upgrade of previously installed modules in existing projects.
"Polaron's new technology will render the thyristor and triac obsolete for dimming applications.
As a leading player in the lighting control market, we continue to show sustainable growth through the use of innovative technology", stated Polaron's Chief Executive Joe Stelzer.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, Polaron lighting controls can integrate fully with audio-visual, building management, security and HVAC systems.
