New from Pacer Components is the OPB350 tube liquid sensor from Optek Technology, one of the worlds leading sensor suppliers.

The OPB350 is a versatile transmissive optical switch consisting of an infra-red LED and phototransistor in a unique plastic opaque housing, which minimises its sensitivity to visible and near-infra-red radiation.

The switch is designed for PCB mounting and has a slot width specially designed to take 3.2mm outside diameter nylon tubing.

The output of the device changes when a lack of fluid is detected.

A choice of special apertures is available for optimisation of the inside diameter of the tube.

The option of apertures allows the device to be used in general applications.

The presence of bubbles can be sensed if the appropriate aperture, fluid and tube are utilised.

The device is ideally suited for many forms of tube fluid sensing and noncontact object sensing.

Custom options are available with either special switching characteristics or custom cable assemblies.
