Pennine stocks up with spares
In mid-2000 Pennine Automation Limited was contacted regularly by customers explaining the difficulties they had in obtaining economical replacement spares fast.
Expansion for repair operations
Pennine Automation is to expand its drives and CNC repairs operations.
Having an increased accuracy and high Table resolution through ring measurement on the innovatory drive/bearing arrangement.
The combined machine has a substantial conventional structure married to the latest quality European system proven components.
Modularity also allows large capacity conventional vertical machining systems to be supplied.
The machine gives an affordable machining facility at a price close to conventional CNC Vertical Borers whilst allowing customers to produce parts at high speed with increased accuracy in one machining process.
Features:* Combined table drive/bearing, having zero backlash with common turning and 'C' Axis (patent pending) simple design, low maintenance.
* High resolution and accuracy on angular positioning through linear scale fitted into Table bearing assembly.
Typically, provides 1 micron resolution on Table edge (1500 machine).
* Machine structure combines 2 main elements: Rigid base interfacing to a Stiff Bridge Assembly.
* Axis drives employ direct driven ballscrews, with precision cross roller linear rails systems designed for heavy cutting loads.
* Twin, driven and fixed, Capto C6 Tooling system giving accurate common driven and fixed tooling.
Tool storage and handling in common tool changer carousel.
* Cytec proven live spindle assembly with through spindle coolant as standard.
* Novel Guarding which runs around the machine base giving safe unrestricted access for load, unload and set-up.
* Angular and right angle machining operations possible with option of side mounted headchanger.
* Integral machine electric's and control.
* Guarding and integral electric's minimise floor space.
* Modularity of design allows common elements to be employed to cover wide Table size.
* Table centre clear for auto-chucking and auto-fixing.
