ISO 9001 achieved by US contract staff company

Peak Technical Services, which supplies technical professionals to staff major projects across the USA, has received registration to the international quality management system standard ISO 9001

Peak Technical Services announces it has received registration to the international quality management system standard ISO 9001.

Peak received its registration from KPMG Quality Registrar, which says that ISO 9000 is an internationally recognized set of standards that guides companies towards an effective quality management system.

To qualify for registration, companies record the policies and procedures that are instrumental in producing and delivering their product or service consistently against customers' requirements.

The company must demonstrate that it has addressed all areas of the standard, and has documented procedures to ensure each area is monitored and controlled.

Procedures to be followed when things go wrong are also documented.

The company is then assessed by a third party such as KPMG Quality Registrar, which conducts an on-site review and evaluates whether or not the company adequately follows its procedures.

If it does, the company is registered.

If not, a "to-do" list is prepared, and another assessment follows later.

Regular audits are carried out to make sure standards do not decline, and registration must be fully renewed every three years.
