Pegler and Louden enters the new Millennium as one of the world's leading flow control solution specialists with a reputation built on 100 years of excellence.

It may not get a telegram from the Queen, but Pegler and Louden enters the new Millennium as one of the world's leading flow control solution specialists with a reputation built on 100 years of excellence.

The company's roots lie in the manufacture and supply of brass fittings and valves for the shipbuilding industry and its early operations were based at the major shipbuilding centres of Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and London.

As new markets for products were established, so the company grew and expansion into the coal industry under the Pegler Hattersley brand in the boom period of the mining years during the first half of the century saw further operations established in Leeds, Wolverhampton, Newport and Nottingham - where the National Distribution Centre - albeit very different from the original - is situated today.

One hundred years old this year, the ISO 9000 accredited company is much more than just a supplier of a range of valves, actuators, controls and instrumentation products and package solutions.

It is part of one of the biggest and most successful global flow control organisations in the world - FCx.

It is also a provider of bespoke custom-made flow control solutions and has an in-house VAC facility.

Pegler and Louden is a specialist flow control solution provider for a huge variety of national and global industries where the process applications involve fluid handling.

They include the chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and petrochemical, energy and power, nuclear, food and beverage, steel, pulp and paper, offshore, heating and ventilation, water and waste, motor, sugar and semi-conductor industries to name but a few.

And the company sells products to contractors, OEMs, distributors and directly to the end users in all of those markets.

All of that demands the highest quality in products, in control solutions and in customer service and to achieve this, Pegler and Louden has always aimed for excellence in every aspect of its products and service.

Pegler and Louden does not rely on one supplier but will source the right products and components needed for an application.

With a network of six regions, each containing a number of satellite operations and client facing staff with engineering or technical backgrounds, not only is vital technical input and knowledge added from the earliest stages, but the Pegler and Louden philosophy of being a national company with local service is emphasised.

All customers receive the same high quality service, whether they are large or small.

Products from Pegler and Louden's 5000 stock lines can be despatched within 24 hours and simple control solutions built and despatched quickly.

Quality control is second to none and Pegler and Louden relies on quality manufacturing sources with products and solutions undergo rigorous testing to ensure they will work perfectly throughout their life and are packaged to arrive in perfect condition.

In fact, quality is so good that manufacturers allow Pegler and Louden to adapt, modify and retest products under controlled conditions to ensure they meet customers' requirements in the knowledge that the company's assembly and quality control departments follow the same critical procedures laid down by themselves.
