Transferring hazardous liquid chemicals - for a long time regarded as one of the industry's most dangerous operations - can now be a much safer process thanks to Drumvent liquid handling systems The Drumvent attaches to drums or IBCs using a simple connector and provides continuous ventilation and a much safer system for transferring chemicals from one container to another

Pegler and Louden - one of the country's leading suppliers of flow control products and solutions - has provided one of the key components for this innovative product, the main high specification Worcester ball valve which when open allows the dip pipe to pass through it into the container, and which when closed isolates the contaminated dip pipe and prevents drips and spills.

The Worcester valve was chosen for its worldwide reputation and reliability.

The Drumvent system not only provides a complete solution to a whole range of chemical handling and transfer problems, it also reduces the effort the individual operator has to make, simplifying the whole transfer process and enhancing productivity.

As well as continuous ventilation from the moment the container is opened, the Drumvent system offers fingertip control and simple height adjustment, allowing it to be tailored to suit every application from an IBC down to a 25 litre can.

It is one of the more unusual applications for Pegler and Louden products, which can be traditionally seen in industries such as oil and gas, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical and water as well as in more conventional applications in the chemical industry.
