Acquisition data go straight online

A Powelectrics product story

The IN4MA web allows users to gather data from remote locations and present this information on the Internet.

The IN4MA web from Powelectrics allows users to gather data from remote locations and present this information on the Internet.

IN4MA web is often used to monitor the level of chemical within a storage tank on a customer's site, enabling the vendor to manage the inventory (vendor managed inventory or VMI for short).

This information is then available to the supplier via the data acquisition software, normally by using the Internet.

An alarm is sent when the product level goes below a 'reorder' point, and sent directly to the relevant department by fax or email, who are then able to respond and send a tanker as required.

Remote tank level monitoring improves customer service, reducing the need for the customer to monitor the level and then place an order.

It also reduces errors in ordering and ensures there are no part loads or returned tankers and therefore reducing logistic and transportation costs.

The IN4MA is a highly flexible piece of telemetry equipment, interfacing to a range of different sensor types and industrial equipment, providing wireless data acquisition solutions right across the globe.

Having a wire free solution means that installation is very quick and easy, there are reduced risks from lightning and the instrument is isolated from the customer's plant The IN4MA web is battery powered, waking up periodically to power the sensor and take a reading.

Every 12 hours or so the device generates a text message which is received by the server.

The data are stripped out and added to the database for that site and then presented on the web.

Data are accessed by a secure username and password.
