A 12-page bulletin available free from PEM Fastening Systems profiles PEM self-clinching standoff fasteners, which install permanently in metal sheets as thin as 0.63mm and enable components to be stacked or spaced in an assembly.

The bulletin provides specs and installation and performance data for profiled types.

"Bulletin SO" covers self-clinching standoff fasteners designed for ultra-thin metal sheets (Types TSO, TSOS, and TSOA); through-hole, threaded, and unthreaded standoffs (Types SO, SON, SOA, and SOS); blind threaded standoffs (Types BSO, BSON, BSOA, and BSOS); and through-hole and blind threaded standoffs specially designed for installation into stainless-steel sheets (Types SO4 and BSO4).

Threaded types are offered in thread sizes 4-40 to 10-32 and M3 to M5.

PEM self-clinching standoffs are installed with their heads flush with one surface of the mounting sheet.

When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are both flush and closed.

Unthreaded self-clinching standoff fasteners are ideal for spacing multipanel assemblies.

Using a Pemserter press can ensure quick, reliable, and accurate fastener installation.
