SI threaded inserts are designed to provide strong, durable metal threads in plastic materials.

An updated 20-page product bulletin from PEM Fastening Systems profiles the complete line of SI threaded inserts, which are designed to provide strong, durable metal threads in plastic materials As they enable component disassembly for service or repairs, SI brass, stainless-steel or aluminium inserts can serve as a practical alternative to other joining methods, such as permanently bonded adhesives or rivets

Applications for SI inserts include computer and terminal boards, automotive components, electronic and communications equipment, and aerospace components.

"Bulletin SI" profiles SI ultrasonic/heat staking threaded inserts, which are installed ultrasonically or with a thermal press; SI moulded-in threaded inserts installed during the moulding process; and SI press-in threaded inserts, which are installed by pressing them into premoulded or drilled holes.

All are available in a wide range of unified and metric thread sizes.

The bulletin includes parts' designations, available materials, thread sizes, and performance data, as well as a general description of usage and a special custom-design section.
