Blind fasteners are protected against intrusion

A Penn Engineering product story

A four-page product bulletin profiles self-clinching blind fasteners designed to provide barriers that protect threads against foreign matter and protect circuits from intrusion of extra-long screws.

An updated four-page product bulletin profiles PEM self-clinching blind fasteners designed to provide barriers that protect threads against foreign matter and protect circuits from intrusion of extra-long screws.

"Bulletin B" reviews specifications, performance data, and the installation procedure for these blind-type fasteners, which employ the unique self-clinching design enabling their permanent installation in thin metal sheets.

The fasteners act as their own pilot and, being round, do not require indexing.

These steel (Type B) and stainless steel (Type BS) fasteners can provide permanently mounted blind threads in metal sheets as thin as 1mm and are available in thread sizes 4-40 to 1/4-20 and M3 to M6.

Blind fasteners in each thread size are offered in two different shank lengths to meet the specifications of those design engineers who want panel holes refilled as much as possible.
