Threaded inserts offer blind attachment solution

A Penn Engineering product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 19, 2008

Atlas SpinTite threaded inserts provide a corrosion resistant fastening solution for blind attachment applications where only one side of a panel is accessible for assembly.

The inserts' body is shaped for installing in hexagonal holes, which promotes high rotational resistance, while the low-profile head minimises protrusions.

They can be used in panels of any hardness as thin as 0.020in /0.5mm and can be installed permanently anywhere and at any stage in the shop or field using a portable, hand-held tool.

These threaded inserts are made from 300 series stainless steel and are available in unified and metric thread sizes from #6-32 through 5/16-18 and M4 through M8.

They provide practical alternatives to tapped holes, weld nuts, rivets and self-drilling or tapping screws.
