Price cut for LVDT displacement
transducers
Penny and Giles Controls has been able to improve the performance and reduce the price of its AF111 and AF145 high integrity LVDT displacement transducers
Following the introduction of 'Cell' manufacturing for its range of rugged, high integrity LVDT displacement transducers, Penny and Giles Controls has been able to improve the performance and reduce the price of its AF111 and AF145 LVDTs The most significant improvement is in the linearity performance of both models

New range of rugged, high integrity LVDTs
Penny and Giles Controls have launched a new range of rugged, high integrity LVDT displacement transducers designed especially for arduous automotive and industrial applications.
For strokes from 75mm to 150mm, independent linearity is now +/- 0.125% - a 100% improvement! For strokes from 5mm to 50mm the specification is now +/- 0.2%.
Both figures were previously +/- 0.25%.
To provide high overall system accuracy the AF111 and AF145 LVDTs have been designed primarily for use in the "difference over sum" (or ratiometric) configuration, where the output is unaffected by temperature and supply current changes.
However, they can also be used in the differential output configuration more commonly used by other LVDT manufacturers.
Both models have a very small transducer "Body Length to Stroke" ratio (Penny and Giles claim it is better than any other LVDT currently available).
A Penny and Giles spokesman says they are able to pass on the 5% price reduction per unit as a direct result of cost savings made from new cell manufacturing techniques for standard catalogue items.
At the same time the company has announced that it has frozen prices for its latest Sealed Linear Sensors for 2001.
Current models include the SLS130, SLS190 and SLS320. Request a free brochure from Penny + Giles ...
