Sealed linear potentiometers delivered
in 3-5 days

Penny and Giles Controls has added a new linear potentiometer to its SLS (sealed linear sensor) range.

Penny and Giles Controls has added a new linear potentiometer to its SLS (sealed linear sensor) range As well as being a direct replacement for its long serving HLP095, the SLS095 has been designed specifically to offer OEM volumes on 3-5 day delivery lead times and at a significantly reduced cost

The new potentiometer, which is the size of an average pen, will offer IP50 and IP66 sealing options and stroke lengths of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75 and 100mm.

Three mounting options are available, all fitted with a three-core PUR cable.

Two are plain body versions that can be ordered with either a flange mounting kit or body clamp mountings.

They are offered as replacements for the current HLP095 and have bodies 7.5mm shorter.

The third option is a new rod end bearing version, which is a first for Penny and Giles in this size of potentiometer.

This model will have one rod fixed to the end of the body and the other adjustable on the M2 threaded shaft.

Both bearings will be stainless steel sleeved polymer types with 2mm mounting holes.

A Penny and Giles spokesman says the new rod end bearing version expands the applications and markets for the SLS095, and adds that typical applications for the new short stroke sensor will include motorsport, robotics, animatronics and small special purpose machines.

He also claims that the 3-5 day delivery offers OEMs a real advantage in a market where 4 to 6 week lead times are the norm.

The SLS095 will make its worldwide debut on at M-TEC 2002 to be held at the UK National Exhibition Centre on the 13th and 14th of February.

Also on show will be the recently launched ICS100 in-cylinder sensor. Request a free brochure from Penny + Giles ...
