Digital panel indicators at very competitive price
Two new ranges of fully programmable, digital panel indicators from Penny and Giles Controls Ltd - offer high performance features at a very competitive price.
The SLS130 fitted to the Kawasaki bikes is designed specifically for motorsport applications with a shorter body length and 25% weight saving.
This makes it ideal for the latest data logging systems used by racing teams to monitor the position of key functions such as throttle and suspension.
Commenting on the choice of sensor, Kawasaki Data Technician Mike Perez says the team is very happy with the SLS130s, which were supplied by Penny and Giles Controls Inc in Chicago, and adds that they provide significantly better performance than the sensors previously used at less than half the cost.
Additionally, the SLS130 has withstood multiple race use in all weather conditions, something not previously experienced.
The standard specification of the SLS130 includes sealing to IP66, an extended range of eight stroke lengths from 25 to 200mm, corrosion-resistant rod-end bearings (with a quick release bearing option), and 1 or 10m cable.
The rear sensors fitted by the Kawasaki team are supplied with a protective stainless steel sleeve for additional protection from road debris "kicked-up" by the rear tyre.
Penny and Giles Controls offers a range of motorsport sensors that are in use on Formula One and other single-seat racecars, rally cars, GT sports cars, touring cars, the US NASCAR series, racing motorcycles and even offshore powerboats. Request a free brochure from Penny + Giles ...
